Wooden rule
// November 11th, 2009 // measurement tools
this is the woodworker’s traditional measuring instrument. It has four distinct fold-out sections with brass ends, which are joined together with brass hinges, The rule itself is made from hardwood and is marked out in imperial (inches) or metric (millimetres), some makes have both. The wooden carpenter’s ruel does have some disadvantages, however, in that it can be broken quite easily and its edges can be damaged through regular use, affecting the accuracy of your measurement.
